Motherboard AK-SR7

On-Line Rebuilding
AK-SR7 hardware RAID 1 or RAID 0+1 features also include the "on-line rebuild" function. For example, if one of the drives in RAID 1 breaks down, there are two ways to rebuild :
  • If you have assigned hot-spare disk before, this spare hard drive will automatically be used to replace the failed member of a redundant disk array. During the rebuilding, the sever can still function as usual, including the data in the failed RAID 1 can also be read/write without any difficulty.
  • f you haven't assigned a hot-spare disk before, you can shut down computer, replace the failed member of a redundant disk array manually, reboot computer and enter the OS, then the "rebuild" may start. During rebuilding, the sever can also function as usual, the data in the failed RAID 1 can also be read/write as usual.
